Rikou-ue-Kyuoku: Birth of a Legend
Earth, 2000PA , where most of the world has been thrown back into the dark ages, due to mans overuse of technology in the 30th century causing a massive neuclear explosison, spanning the globe, wiping out 98% of the population. Due to the large divides between the survivours, and evolution, some of the humans have evolved similar to the races commonly found in fantasy.
The group, that came to be known as Elves, grew taller and more lithe, and their ears lengthened and thier scenses sharpened, to adapt to the new forests they found themselves in. Much the same way the Dwarves grew stouter, and their eyesight improved, to better navigate the dark tunnels they found themselves in, and grew thick hair to keep themselves warm. The Orcs evolved along similar lines to the Dwarves, but were severely affected by the Radiation, as were the Trolls, who grew to enormous size. Though due to vast amounts of radiaton, their intelegence was greatly reduced. It was 1,500 years after the apokalypse, and the populaton had recently gotten back on their feet, and resurfaced, to a world much different to the one foretold by thier ancestors. A large chunk of the land, as large than the old continent of Australia, had been blown clear off the face of the earth, exposing the molten core, filled with which seemed a strange glowing substance. The 'people' found that by harnesing this substance, they could perform feats deemed as miracles. They called this new craft, magick.
Due to the sheer power of the substance, it was at first reserved for only those whom had extensively trained and learned of its properties. Though like all things, where there is intent for good, there is also the intent for evil... and many of the abilities of such magic was forbidden. The pure substance of the magick rocks, were used as a more effiecient method of power, and technology has been gradualy reintroduced, with the Dwarves embracing the revolutions, and the Elves rejecting them. There are many other races in this new world, some as of yet known only in legends. The races established large kingdoms, each of them taking a different province, so as not to interfere wth each others politics. The Elves ruled over the eastern forests and jungles, the Dwarves chosing the icy Tundra, and the mountaintops of the north, the Humans taking temperate pains to the south. The orcs fled to the marshlands to the west, bordering the desolate wastelands, inhabited only by desert nomads and ruthless bandits, the only area in the land left uncivalised, and wild. The high ridges and thick fogs surounding the large island to the south of the mainland, preventing all exploration, though sailors have told tales of beasts, larger than the largest airship, seen through the thick mist there.
A young sorcerer, barely even a man, discovered the forbidden magicks, and when he tried them, he was discovered and sentenced into exile, and thrown into the middle of the desert. He wandered that desolate place, eventualy coming across an altar, devoted to some forgotten war diety, and colapsed against the Altar, he heard the diety speaking to him, it may have been his own twisted hatred, or the burning desert sun, but he believed the diety's words, words that he could become all powerful, words that he could rule over all, words....of revenge. He went mad in that place, learning to harness his forbidden magc, Necromancy, Demonic Rituals and the abiliy to extent natural life, by taking the lifeforce of others, with which he could create a leigon of undead warriors, undefeatable in combat. He practiced on the bleached bones of the desert wayfarers who'd lost thier way, slowly building himself a fortress around the Altar.
400 years later, a war broke out, between the races, members of each race fighting on both sides, some for the honour of battle, others to protect their families and homes, some just wanted to fight. Either way, it was a bloody war, with casualties on all sides, and the armies severely weakened. The War was 100 years ago, the armies were still crippled, and much of the technology had been destroyed, only the wealthy could afford technology, such as aiships. The most common weapon was still the sword, though guns were becoming ever more popular, though due to their expense to produce, and difficulty to use, few relied on them, instead preferng the blade, yet among the dwarves technology was commonplace. Now, the feared necromancer, Mortis Venificus, has made his move, he now threatens the Elvin forests to the east, learning of a very powerful magical stone, hidden deep in the woods.
Well, that was the history. Now, the part everyone hates, the Rules. (if youare the type of RPer who dislikes rules and structure in an RP, then please stop reading now, as it would be a waste of your time, thankyou.)
The Rules
1. No godmodding. Only I am alowed to control the characters of others, and only when absolutely necessary, I will only control you if it is either imperitive to the roleplay, ie; for the plot, or if you are offline for over a week. I will give you one weeks notice on both accounts, and ask that you post accordigly.
2. No super powerful Characters, I don't want anyone to ruin the whole RP by bestowng super powers on their characters, you must give them limitations.
3. No leet speak, as you can geuss, I don't want posts full of leet, if you're going to be posting, please use full english.
4. No one liners, everyone hates em, I don't want you to write "I was tired I went to bed and then got up.", be creative, and if you can't think of any words, cheat and use a thesaurus(no that is not a dinosaur, type it into google). The only tims one liners are acceptable, is in combat. If you don't know the length to post, look at the lengths of the other posts, that should give you a clue.
5. You will get one week between your posts, if you don't post within a week, I'll PM you asking why, and will try to come to a compromse which benefits both parties.
6. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the RP, concerning story, what your reactions should be ect, but please do not Pm me asking, "is my post okay?", I am the only one that you should be concerned about when making your posts, don't worry bout the others, If I have a problem wth your post, I'll PM you.
So, in all, have fun, and I hope to roleplay with you someday.
~Kogan
P.S. you have about a month to post your character sheets, I'll provide a bio format if you ask, but please try to make your own, thankyou.
